Chinese New Year 2018 Celebrations

The Chinese community hosts vibrant annual celebrations for Chinese New Year in Cairns under the banner of the Great Barrier Reef Chinese New Year Festival. The hugely popular festival showcases the city’s rich Chinese heritage through music, dance, cultural performances, food, market stalls and a parade featuring the traditional dragon, lions and the 12 zodiac animals. Culminating in a spectacular fireworks display the new sponsors KUR-World have signed up for a 3-year deal and believe 2018 is going to be a huge success.
Chinese New Years Day Celebration – enjoy the fare of the Year of the Rooster and welcome in the Year of the Dog. Street performances and fireworks at the Cairns Esplanade, Lagoon Plaza.
