Where is the Apartment Complex located?

We are located at 71 Lake Street, Cairns Qld 4870, in the heart of the CBD. We are just a short stroll to just about everything you’ll need … restaurants, cafes, bars, supermarket, chemist, shopping, entertainment facilities and much more. Our central location makes it very easy for our guests to get around. We are only 10 minutes (by car or bus) away from the Cairns International Airport.

Can I have client meetings in the Apartment/Complex?

We fully appreciate that some of you come to Cairns to work (and play, we hope), so yes you can have client meetings in the Apartments.

This request must be discussed and approved by Management prior to the meeting and you are expected to follow the criteria listed below. It is important that Reception is fully aware at all times who is entering the building and for what purpose.

This is vital in terms of ensuring the safety and security of all guests staying at Inn Cairns Boutique Apartments, as well as adhering to Fire Safety Regulations. All the same criteria applies as with inviting other guests to your Apartment.

  • The maximum number of visitors you can invite to your Apartment for a client meeting must not exceed four (4).
  • Visitors can only enter the Apartment or the Apartment Complex during the daytime between 8:00am and 9:00pm. No person who is not a guest is to be onsite before 8:00am or after 9:00pm each day.
  • All guest’s visitors arriving at Inn Cairns Boutique Apartments must register their presence onsite with our Reception and it is your responsibility to ensure all visitors are registered with our Front Desk staff prior to entering your Apartment. Our Reception hours are 8:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm Saturday and Sunday. On Public Holidays our reception area is open 8:00am to 2:00pm.
  • All guest’s visitors must advise our Reception area when they are leaving.
  • It is a Fire Safety Requirement that management is made aware of all persons onsite at any given point in time.

If you require more space for your business meeting or gathering while you are in Cairns, we can suggest you contact the following venues to discuss casual meeting room hire.

  • Cairns Regional Council / Library buildings in City (151 Abbott Street, Cairns is close by). They also have space at the Gordonvale, Manunda and Stratford branches for meeting rooms to hire, and you can book in advance. See more information here.

  • Nintiringanya Conference Centre – 16 McCormack Street, Mooroobool.

Do you provide all linen in the Apartment?

Yes we do. All bed linen, bathroom towels, kitchen tea towels etc. are all provided. If you are coming to stay with us for a Long Stay our mid-week service clean (longer than 7 days) will include new linen supply. If our guests need more linen, just contact Reception and let us know what you need.

Extra Linen

All of our Apartments are priced and provided as Fully Self-contained Apartments. This is distinct to serviced apartments.

For all guests staying at Inn Cairns Boutique Apartments, each Apartment has a fully equipped laundry enabling guests to wash the linen during their stay.

Guest preferring to pay for extra or additional linen can arrange this service at a cost with Reception. For all guests staying 7 or more days there is a mid-week service clean provided and this service includes fresh linen.

Do you have 24-hour access?

At check-in, guests are provided with their own Access Key which provides secure access to the Complex (including the car park) and the Apartments 24 hours a day.

For new guests arriving at Reception to check-in, or guests who are checking-out, our Reception Desk is open 8:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday and 8:00am to 5:00pm Saturday and Sunday. On Public Holidays our reception area is open 8:00am to 2:00pm.

We can easily accommodate out of hours check-ins if you’re arriving late or leaving early, just speak to our friendly staff for more information and to make arrangements.

What happens if we need to CANCEL a booking?

We appreciate that sometimes our holiday and/or busines plans don’t always work out. Cancellation fees apply, please read our Book Direct cancellation policy for more information.

How often are the Apartments serviced?

If you are intending to come stay with us for a Long Stay, we will include one midweek service clean per week for any stay 7 or more days. Our fully-equipped, self contained Apartments include a washing machine and dryer so you can wash your linen whenever you choose.

If, on the other hand, you require us to provide you with fresh linen during your stay, there may be an additional charge. Just check with our Reception team if you need more information.

Can we check-in early / check-out late?

Yes you can.

Reception area is open 8:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday and 8:00am to 5:00pm Saturday and Sunday and 8:00am to 2:00pm on Public Holidays for easy check-in and check-out. We are able to accommodate out of hours check-in/out if you’re arriving late or leaving early, just speak to our friendly Reception team for more information and to make arrangements.

Is the swimming pool heated?

No. This is a concept applicable to the southern States of Australia where the temperature is much cooler than here in Far North Queensland. We are in the Tropics – no need to heat the pool.

How do we pay for our Accommodation?

Depending on how your accommodation booking is made, we have several payment options.

Booking directly with us over the telephone: you can pay by Credit Card (fees may apply).

Booking with us at Reception … we will accept Cash or you can use Credit/Debit Cards through our EFTPOS facility.

If you’re Booking Direct online via our website – and we recommend you do because there are great specials and savings offered – you can pay directly through our secure online service using your Credit Card or via Paypal.

If you would like to book by phone or email our Reception staff can take payment over the phone.

What do we need to bring?

Whether you’re coming for a Short Stay, a Night Away, a Long Stay, a Holiday or anything in-between all you need to bring is clothes, personal items, maybe your laptop (if you must work), a camera or your mobile, a smile and everything else you need is here for you.

There are several to choose from, and don’t forget our central position in Lake Street Cairns puts you close to lots of eateries. Food delivery services you can choose from include:

You can place and order and arrange to have it delivered to our Reception area – for your information our delivery address is 71 Lake Street, Cairns, Queensland 4870.

If our reception area is open, you will be notified when your delivery arrives and you must come down to reception to accept the delivery. For the safety and security of our guests, the delivery person is not permitted past the Reception area.

Don’t forget our Reception Area is open 8:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm Saturday and Sunday and 8:00am to 2:00pm on Public Holidays.

How far are the Apartments from the Cairns Airport?

Cairns Domestic and International Airport is a short 10 minute drive away from Inn Cairns Boutique Apartments at 71 Lake Street, Cairns. See more information on our Location Map.

Can you organise Tours for us?

Yes we can. Our friendly Reception staff will help you with any information you need and there are lots of Tour brochures available in our Reception area. You can also Book Direct on our Tours page and SAVE 5%.

Reception area is open between 8:00am and 6:00pm Monday to Friday and 8:00am to 5:00pm Saturday and Sunday to assist with all your Tour enquiries. On Public Holidays our reception area is open 8:00am to 2:00pm.

Can you organise Car Hire for us?

Whether you need to drive yourself around or you’re looking to do some self-drive Day Trips, yes we can organise Car Hire and provide directions and local information. We are locals and know our region well, book with the locals and get the most from your Tours when you stay with us at Inn Cairns Boutique Apartments.

Do you have a BBQ area?

Our weather-proof (mostly to keep out the heat here in the FNQ) BBQ Area is fully equipped with BBQs, plenty of seating with tables and chairs, food prep area and great views. The complex features internal atriums and several outdoor spaces that are perfect for gathering together with fellow guests and enjoying our wonderful climate and rooftop views across the city.

Do you have a swimming pool?

Yes we do, and when you’re visiting the tropics of Far North Queensland the weather is so perfect you can practically swim all year round.

Our large swimming pool is located on the Pool Terrace with weather-proof gazebo and BBQ facilities.

Can I leave my car in Car Park if we go on extended tour?

We are always wanting to help our guests enjoy their Far North Queensland stay. If we have the room in the car park you can certainly leave your car with us while you do a Cape York Tour, or something just as adventurous. Just talk to the friendly staff at Reception to find out what options are available during your stay.

The Apartments are self-contained, what does that mean?

A fully equipped, self-contained Apartment is like a home away from home. Just pack your bags and come stay with us. In the self-contained apartments you will find:

  • Bedroom – one bedroom with choice of Queen or Twin beds, wardrobe, mirror and TV and all linen (extra bedding available)
  • Bathroom – towels, hair dryer, bath and shower, spacious vanity area with storage (complementary bath products on arrival)
  • Laundry – automatic washing machine, a washing tub and a dryer (complementary washing products on arrival)
  • Kitchen – fully equipped with cutlery, crockery, pots/pans, toaster, coffee plunger and basic dishwashing and cleaning kit (complementary tea, coffee, milk on arrival and tea towels)
  • Dining/Lounge area – table and chairs, 3 seater sofa (extra seating available), TV, coffee table
  • Balcony with outdoor table and chairs

Self-contained … check in, unpack your bag and take a load off. Enjoy your stay.

Self-contained Apartments are a great option for Long Stays. If you’re coming to Cairns for work, as a Locum, or on business or you are relocating and need temporary/medium-term Accommodation, or maybe you intend to say for a few weeks or longer, staying with us is much easier than going through real estate agents and dealing with leases etc. And we have great Long Stay rates.

Are the Apartments air-conditioned?

Yes, every Apartment at Inn Cairns Boutique Apartments has ducted air cooling the entire apartment with outlet vents in both the kitchen living area and in the bedroom.

Can I have groceries delivered prior to my arrival?

A large Woolworths Supermarket is located directly opposite Inn Cairns Boutique Apartments and they are open 6:00am to 10:00pm daily, so getting your groceries organised once you arrive can be really easy.

If it is important that you have groceries delivered, we would be pleased to discuss your needs and where possible make pre-arrangement with Reception staff to ensure the delivery can be accommodated.

For security reasons and for the safety of our guests, Inn Cairns Boutique Apartments does not permit anyone other than guests and registered visitors passed the Reception area.

Can I have takeaway food/groceries delivered to my Apartment?

Takeaway Food – Yes you can.

All takeaway food deliveries must be directed to the main Reception area only. During reception hours you will be notified when your order arrives and you must come down to Reception to accept delivery.

For security reasons and for the safety of our guests, Inn Cairns Boutique Apartments does not permit anyone other than guests and registered visitors passed the Reception area.

Groceries – Yes you can.

Can I cook my own meals in the Apartment?

Yes. That’s the joy of self-contained, fully equipped Apartments at Inn Cairns Boutique Apartments. Each Apartment has a fully equipped kitchen. We provide crockery, cutlery, utensils, pots, pans, frypan, coffee plunger and toaster plus some cleaning items. Kitchens also have a  fridge/freezer, dining table and chairs.

When you’re away from home, even when you’re on holidays, it is always good to be able to cook your own favourite meal/foods. There is a large Supermarket across the street, an organic Wholefoods/organic store (The Source) just moments away and the iconic Rusty’s Markets are open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday with local fresh produce, meat, dairy, seafood available.

Can I wash and iron my own clothes?

Yes you can. Each Apartment has a private, fully equipped laundry with automatic top loader washing machine (hot and cold wash cycle options), a dryer and a laundry tub.

An iron and ironing board are also supplied.

Do the Apartments have a private bathroom?

The bathrooms in our Apartments are very spacious. Each Apartment has it’s own private bathroom equipped with a bath and/or shower (depending on room configuration), as well as a fully-equipped laundry.

Complimentary bathroom products and a Hair Dryer are also provided on arrival.

Are the Apartments pet friendly?

We love pets, but unfortunately our Bylaws don’t permit pets to stay in the Apartments.

Guide Dogs are permitted. If you are travelling with pets and you need some assistance, we may be able to assist with providing information on boarding kennels close by. Check in with our friendly staff for details.

How do I get to the Apartments from the Airport?

Getting to and from the Airport to your accommodation at Inn Cairns Boutique Apartments is easy.

Here we have listed the choices available, it’s up to you to decide.

Taxi/Hire Car – it’s a short 10 minute drive (give or take) by Taxi, Limousines, Hire Car or Uber. If you are looking to hire a car we can assist with that when you make your accommodation booking.

Buses/Shuttle Bus – A private bus service “Airport Connect” operates bus service to and from the Cairns Airport, visit the Cairns Airport website for all information.

Is there Public Transport nearby?

Buses are available to take visitors all over the Cairns, Tablelands and Port Douglas region. Translink has a Cairns Centre Terminus in Lake Street, just up from the Apartments.

Translink operates a bus service to and from the Cairns Domestic and International Airport through Airport Link.

  • Uber operates throughout Cairns
  • Cairns Taxi Service operates throughout Cairns.
  • TransNorth Bus Service (a privately operated bus service) has bus services to the Tablelands and all the way to Cooktown and Karumba.

Is there great shopping in Cairns?

Cairns Central is just a short stroll away (about 700 metres) and is the largest shopping centre in Far North Queensland. Either walk or drive as there is plenty of parking available. The Centre is fully enclosed (enjoy the stroll even in hot weather) and offers over 180 stores including boutique shops and Myer, Target, Kmart and Coles. The Centre has a Personal Styling Service available if you’re looking for a certain “look”.

How far away are the restaurants?

Within a short walking distance from Inn Cairns Boutique Apartments in 71 Lake Street you can select from pub-fare, café dining and just about every international cuisine you can imagine.

From food-courts (Asian and Indian takeaways, all-day café food, pizzas, Japanese food) to our One-Hat Restaurant – Tamarind. The hard part is going to be the choice.

It’s just a short 10-minute stroll to the iconic Cairns Esplanade where you can select from a selection of great eateries; and The Pier dining precinct will offer up a wide selection of great food.

Do you have bunk beds and cots?

We can provide extra sleeping arrangements with Roll-away and Sofa beds and Cots. All available at an extra charge. Our one-bedroom self-contained Apartments can easily accommodate extra people and children.

Where can I buy food?

All major food outlets are very close by, it just depends on what type of food you want to prepare? Our inner-city Location is close (one street away) from Rusty’s Markets – Cairns iconic fresh food produce markets open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You can buy some of the region’s best produce from meats to seafood, dairy products, fresh vegetables and fruits of all varieties, herbs and spices and other delicacies.

A large Supermarket is located just across the road and caters to our many national and international visitors so it has a vast array of fresh and prepared foods from just about every cuisine. Their delicatessen and cheese selection are renowned.

Source Foods and the Community Store are within easy walking distance for organic wholefoods. A great selection of local raw honey is on offer along with grains, seeds, nuts, supplements and lots more.

What major tourist attractions are nearby?

Do you have Wi Fi, Cable TV?

FREE Wi Fi is available to all guests for the duration of their stay. We also have Cable/Foxtel TV.

Does the facility have Cable TV/Foxtel?

Yes we do. Our guests can enjoy Cable TV and Foxtel available in all Apartments – and its FREE. Each Apartment has a TV in the loungeroom and another one in the bedroom. Free Wi Fi is available to our guests.

Do the Apartments have a balcony?

Yes. Each Apartment has a private balcony with outdoor table and chairs. The balcony is a great place to sit and relax after a busy day holidaying (shopping, eating, sailing, snorkelling …) or a busy day working.

What other facilities do you have?

Located within the Apartment complex we have a range of facilities to make your stay with us comfortable and enjoyable.

  • Luggage Storage: we are able to store your luggage for you when you arrive early before check-in and when you check-out but are not going to the airport for a few hours so you can go and enjoy a last coffee without hauling your luggage around.

Does the apartment complex have a lift/elevator?

Yes we do. Access to and from our Reception area and your Apartment is easy. The elevator goes to every floor including the Pool Terrace and BBQ area and the Rooftop Terrace area and down to the basement level carpark.

What’s the difference between serviced and a self-contained?

With Self-Contained Apartments you look after yourself your way with no daily intrusion from staff into your apartment. It is very much like your home away from home. To welcome you to the Inn Cairns Boutique Apartments there is a starter kit of supplies so you can relax and make a cuppa on arrival but after that you purchase the items you want to have in your apartment. Your apartment includes a separate bedroom, bathroom with laundry facilities, fully equipped kitchen, dining room/lounge area and a private balcony.

Generally speaking rooms or apartments that are serviced each day – like a hotel – cost more as the cost of servicing is built into the cost of your room.

So with Self-contained Apartments you enjoy more freedom and save money!

There’s no better way to shape your holiday the way you want than to take care of yourself. Self-contained Apartments provide privacy, comfort, generally have a better price-point and let you do your own cooking, washing etc. Find out more.

Where can my visitors park?

The onsite, secure and undercover car park is only available to guest staying at Inn Cairns Boutique Apartments and to clients of who lease car parking space. Should your visitors be aged or have mobility issues please contact the Reception staff who can assist with making suitable arrangements (subject to availability).

Our inner city Location – right in the heart of Lake Street – provides easy access to on-street Parking (metered) and secure parking stations are close by.

Is there onsite Car Parking?

Yes. And for our guest parking is FREE.

We have secure, undercover parking available under the Apartment complex in Lake Street. The 2.3m clearance caters for most large 4WD vehicles. If you’re unsure if your vehicle will fit, Contact Us to discuss your needs.

Is there space to entertain my visitors in the complex?

Yes. We have lots of great space for you to access during your stay, with your visitors. The three main areas available:

  • Swimming Pool Terrace and weather-proof gazebo and BBQ area with plenty of seating on the 1st floor
  • Large Rooftop Garden area on the 6th floor
  • Rooftop Relaxation area (nice and quiet, great views) on the 7th floor

In fairness to other guests staying at Inn Cairns Boutique Apartments it is important that the number of visitors be limited to no more than 4 and visitors are welcome onsite between the hours of 8:00 am and 9:00 pm only. For security and Fire Safety reasons please ensure you inform Reception that you will be having visitors onsite communicating the number of visitors and the time they will be onsite. All visitors must register at the reception desk when they arrive and let staff know when they leave.

Please remember that our Reception area must be keep clear at all times so guests arriving, departing and making enquiries can do so without hindrance.

Can I have extra people stay with me overnight?

Yes. Under the Terms & Conditions of your original booking, the Accommodation rate covers a one-bedroom Apartment for 2 people. However the Apartments can accommodation up to 4 persons and we can easily make extra sleeping arrangements if required.

Please notify our Reception staff if you are intending to have extra people stay overnight. See our Rates & Specials page online for details on extra charges.

Can my visitors use the facilities in the Apartment complex?

Yes. Under the guidelines outlined Can I invite visitors to our Apartment? this is permissible. Your must accompany your visitors at all times while they are in the Apartment complex. Remember, the maximum visitors you can have at one time is four (4).

Can I invite visitors to our Apartment?

Yes. We want to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, and catching up with friends and family, and even work colleagues is important. But we ask you to consider our other guests at all times.

Entertaining visitors in your Apartment must not be at the inconvenience of the other guests staying at Inn Cairns Boutique Apartments. Just adhere to some specific rules:

How many people can stay in one Apartment?

Our Accommodation Rates cover 2 people in one Apartment. However, our Apartments can easily accommodate up to 4 persons.

Each self-contained Apartment contains one separate bedroom with a Queen or Twin beds, and we can easily accommodate children and extra people. We have a Roll away or Sofa Bed and Cots and High Chairs available to accommodate extra people.

Are the beds queen, twin or double?

Is there a minimum or maximum stay period?

Not really, naturally we would like you to come stay with us at Inn Cairns Boutique Apartments for at least a few days, or longer. But, there are NO FIXED MINIMUM STAY PERIODS*. You are welcome to stay for one night if that’s what you need.  But the MAXIMUM STAY period is set at 3 months. We have great discount packages available for Long Stays – find out more here.

Can I store my luggage after I check-out?

Yes, of course you can. We have a secure storage area where you can store your luggage if you’re waiting for a flight out of Cairns and have some time to fill in. There is no need to drag your luggage all over town, we will store it for you and you can pick it up when you’re ready to go to the Cairns Domestic/International Airport. Speak with our friendly staff.

Can we store bikes and other sporting equipment?

We do have storage available onsite for luggage and other items, and yes guests have regularly stored bikes and sporting equipment with many visitors coming to cairns to compete in various sporting events here. Best to check with our friendly staff to discuss your requirements. Rest assured we will do everything we can to be of assistance during your stay.

What time is Check-in / Check-out?

As a general rule, Inn Cairns Boutique Apartments standard times are: Check-in 2:00pm, Check-out 10:00am.

Our Reception area is open 8:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday and 8:00am to 5:00pm Saturday and Sunday for easy check in and check out. We are able to accommodate out of hours check ins if you’re arriving late or leaving early, just speak to our friendly staff for more information.

What are the reception hours?

Our friendly and helpful staff attend our Reception area from 8:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday and 8:00am to 5:00pm Saturday and Sunday, 8:00am to 2:00pm on Public Holidays. Out of hours Check-in/Check-out is available by prior arrangement. We look forward to discussing your needs at the time you make your Booking.

For your convenience we do provide a Night Answering Service whenever our Reception area is closed. For guests checking in after hours – or just wanting assistance after hours – all you have to do is push the BIG RED BUTTON next to our main front door and you will be connected to our After Hours service centre and receive all the assistance you need.

If you need access to your apartment or have other challenges you need to sort out – After Hours – just push the big red button and someone will be there to help you.

Do I need to pay a deposit at time of booking?

Yes. All Apartment accommodation bookings will be secured by the payment of at least one night’s accommodation at the time of making your booking. This is standard practice throughout the hotel and accommodation industry.

Do you require a security bond?

Yes. At check-in we will ask you to provide your Credit Card for imprint and pre-authorisation.

This is standard practice within the hotel and accommodation industry. If our guests do not have a Credit Card then a Cash Bond of $150 is required. The deposit is refunded as part of the check-out process once the vacated room has been inspected.
